Kaivalam Craft Bazaar – 2012 At Valluvar Kottam

I had been to craft bazaar 2012 at Valluvar Kottam organised by Kaivalam. Artisans across India presented their works in various stalls.

Mithila paintings from Bihar, Pattachitra paintings from Orissa, Warli-tribal paintings from Maharashtra stole the show. Apart from paintings there were apparels, pottery, artificial jewellery, rugs, wrought iron and brass ware etc.. Chanderi silk saree collections from Maharashtra are awesome but they are too pricey.

Look what I bought from the Craft bazaar. A black kurta, dozens of silk threaded bangles, bamboo coasters, wooden blocks and wallet made up of jute.

Thanks to Kaivalam and Craft council of India for encouraging creative artisans and giving life to undying folk paintings of India.

  2. I intended to say thank you for liking my post about Obesity and Diabetes in the cat. I appreciate every like and comments- good or bad., It does not matter., I am open to criticism. That is how one grows and becomes better- hopefully!
